Is it a good idea to stay in touch with Seller?

We’ve kept in contact with our buyer throughout - I really think it helped push our sale through but I could see it being a problem if they weren’t as nice as they are. I’ve been measuring things for them the past few days and sending things over!
I did try and open a dialogue with our vendors too but they reverted back to communicating via solicitors which is totally fair enough, I guess it depends on who it is.0 -
This is an 'it depends' question.Having bought and old privately, the answer then was obvious and there were no problems. With our current house, being in touch was also good, due to the peculiar nature of the sale: divorce, imprisonment, you name it! We are still good friends with the vendor. As for the old lady who bought my probate property, no personal contact whatever. I guess she found out about my invisible repair on the rotting conservatory eventually!0

The more people you communicate with during the process, the more varied will be the information you receive. I prefer to keep it simple and have a single line of comms through the agent. Saves confusion & mixed messages.

The seller was not very helpful in my case. It depends on the person I guess, if the seller seems friendly and approachable then fine, or else estate agent/solicitor is the best mode to keep communication.0

In my case the seller gave me a key to the house months before we exchanged. Very odd situation. I did not treat my buyer in the same way!YNWA

Our buyer had our number and we had our vendor's number.
