Leasehold properties and dangerous walls
Hello. I live in a leasehold property and last week part of the neightbours 2.5m high brick wall fell into my courtyard which I don’t own but use for access. We are really lucky someone wasn’t killed. The bricks were piled against the door so I couldn’t open it. Everything in the courtyard was destroyed.
My management company sent someone around the same day to clear up, which was great, but they’re now saying it’s the neighbours problem (a different leasehold management company) and won’t provide any more assistance. They won’t even tell me who the responsible management company is.
Part of the wall is still leaning, resting against a wooden gate belonging to my leasehold company and I’m concerned the rest of it could come down. It’s a serious safety issue and no one is communicating with me.
My question is, who do I contact about this when I can’t find the details of the management company responsible for the wall? The police? My insurers? The council? A no win no fee lawyer? I’m at a total loss and can’t believe no one is taking this seriously.

Call the Council's Private Sector housing department, it may be part of environmental health and report the issue. They shoukd take it up with the neighbour's landlord.1
