Tui re-booking process

We have been trying for weeks to amend our Tui summer holiday from this year to next, but each time we get through to the booking page we get an error message. Numerous attempts to contact Tui have been ignored and additionally the cost of the holiday is now £1600 higher than at the weekend. The fact that we could book this as a new customer as opposed to an existing one making an amendment gives the impression that this is a deliberate attempt by Tui to block customers from making changes. Has anyone else had the same issue or had experience with getting through to someone to get some help.

I can't think there is any deliberate attempt to make your life hard and difficult. It could be a simple technical hitch or a change that needs a human to action. One issue that springs to mind is changing from a schedule or non-TUI charter flight, or vis versa.0 -
Same here. Due to travel 17th May so at the moment on advice the trip isn’t cancelled as boris says that’s the day they aim to open up. Contacted TUI and got a call back, asked to amend by 12 months exact same details. Hols currently paid in full £1700 for 7 days all in. Greece 2 adults, 2 kids. They wanted extra £890 to travel 20/5/22. I asked whether it was because of now free child places and they couldn’t answer. I declined and asked when I need to amend by and they said 28 days prior to departure. I cannot justify £2600 for 7 nights in Greece, appalling cost. I don’t know if I should amend when and if, change the criteria, or sit tight and await the outcome. Travelling this May is not an option even if open.0

They probably haven't introduced free child places for 2022 yet and won't know if there will be any.
there are many complaints of the higher costs for 2022. Companies need to make up for lost income this year and potentially less people travelling.
Hotels will be dearer, flights will be dearer.0 -
Fully understand that but 53% increase is far too much. Am now wondering about chancing awaiting cancellation of travel doesn’t reopen on this date and taking the refund. Big gamble but I have 4 weeks to decide0

Hotels will be dearer, flights will be dearer.I think 2022 is too far away right now.I have a holiday in June deferred from last year and TUI say that I can do a free amendment (obviously paying the difference in holiday cost) but the same apartments are not yet on TUI website for June 2022. In fact there are very few accommodation options for 2022 for our dates. So that makes me think they may not yet have agreed terms with their accommodation suppliers.

Same here for May. But they mentioned that the free amendment must be made no later than 28 days prior to departure. This said I have about 6 weeks to fulfil this, which means I may not get a free child place before the cutoff0

From the TUI website -
"You can use Manage my Booking to change your holiday if you booked on our website, on the TUI app, or on the First Choice app, and your flights were scheduled to be with TUI Airways. If you booked in a TUI Store, if you added insurance, parking, or an airport hotel to your booking, or if your holiday includes a flight with an airline other than TUI Airways, please call 0203 451 2688 between 9am and 5.30pm from Monday to Friday to speak to a Travel Expert, who will help you to change your holiday."0
