Morning, hugs if you need one.
Yesterday was not a good day quilt wise, its in a bag and will stay there until I get different wadding. Two years ago I decided I was not making any more big quilts, so let the roll of wadding go having cut off what I though would be enough....wrong.......so I have had to order a queen size pack, no idea when it will arrive, so everything is on hold until it does. I have sent for the fabric for GGdaughters quilt, which will no way be as large. It will have to wait I need at least a month off.
Dull wet morning, the gardener is due to come this afternoon, but looking at the weather I have my doubts........
I have a load of coloured laundry in, it will be going in the dryer. Whites will get done tomorrow.
Pork casserole with veggies tonight.8 -
Morning all, wet and dull here. DH is pricing an extension up, it's the 4th estimate he's done in the last couple of weeks so people round here are still having work done. He's held off doing too much physical stuff since we had covid, leaving it to DS2 and his sub contractor mate. I've been after him easing off for a bit, well he is 68 now, but he finds it hard to sit still!Happy Birthday Tru- hope it's a good'un.I got wet dogwalking but the flooded park has gone down a bit, not as much room for the ducks and Canada geese today. There are some places I won't walk on my own, in the woods for instance, but our pooch sounds a bit like yours Bella, she loves all the family, & selected friends but everyone else is under suspicion
and she wouldn't react kindly to anyone approaching closely. She doesn't get let off the long lead either. She's so big I don't think anyone would try to dognap her,it would be a struggle, but there have been many cases in our town,it's heartbreaking.Something with chicken breast tonight, perhaps a traybake, that got favourable comments the last time
Hope you all have a good day xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)14 -
Morning all
Bright and sunny here but still cold the washing can go out for a while today.
Thank you for the good wishes re the evil ex, he actually turned up !! he got quite a list of punishments: 26 weeks imprisonment suspended for 2 years, he has to attend a building better relationships course, 40 hours community service, 10 days rehabilitation activity (involving a probation officer) over £200 fine and a restraining order for 10 years to prevent him from contacting dd in any way at all, if he breaks any of these punishments or breaks the law in the next 2 years he will be sent to prison !! Also his new partner will be told of his past as when he is doing the relationships course they nornally get more violent before they get better. DD is pleased with the result as we all are, he has gone through his life doing this to one girl after another until dd stood up to him I am so proud of her
she said she feels like a weight has been lifted off. She can get on with her life now.
I have to take mum shopping today her car keeps going wrong so she has been unable to shop for a couple of weeks, I have been doing her shopping but she is desperate to go herself so I shall pick her up and take her, there is a new Lidl she wants to go to so that is my excitement for the day.
DD and I will take the dogs out this morning, we dont like walking on our own either but sometimes we have to but then we tend to go to the park in the village which is normally quite busy with dog walkers so feels safer, both of our dogs are so friendly and will say hello to anyone which is not so good really.
Tru Happy Birthday to you !! Hope you have a lovely day with much cake and wine xxxx13 -
What a relief Ruby. Thank goodness your DD is now protected from him. He will be an idiot if he risks 26 weeks in jail.
Hopefully, with that catalogue of training sessions he will be far too busy to cause any more grief.
So far this morning I have had the window cleaner, DS2 arrived to mend my tap, neighbour rang to see if I needed anything from the Supermarket and a friend has been on the phone telling me all her troubles. I am exhausted.
Coffee and then something calm and mindless.
Happy Birthday tru, hope you are going to be spoiled.I believe that friends are quiet angels

What good news RUBY. So the stupid man saw a bit of sense at last by turning up before the consequences of a no show were worse. DD must be so relieved it's now all behind her. X
