Warranty

My relative passed away at the start of Feb and had a stair lift in the house that his late wife used. A four year warranty was taken out in July 2020 at a cost of £595. My question is that due to bereavement can any refund be made for the 3 years + that are left or can I have the stair lift fitted into another property and transfer the warranty. The company have told me 'no' to both questions. Surely this can be right? Any help would be appreciated.

It's perfectly allowable. A warranty is offered above statutory rights, so the retailer or manufacturer can state their own terms. If the terms of the warranty are such that partial refunds aren't offered, and the warranty can't be transferred to another person or property, those are the terms.
Nothing to stop you moving the lift to another house, or selling it, but the warranty can't be transferred.2
