Can I claim a refund for a mobile contract I've never used?

Hi, looking for advice.
I purchased a pay monthly deal from phones 4 u where I got a handset and sim card (Vodafone) back in 2018, I used the handset but didn't use the vodafone sim card provided which I am still paying £25 per month for, ive never made one call or text on it, my question is would they provide a refund or even a part refund for me not using the SIM from new? I'm not so sure but hoping someone would have a definitive answer before I phone them to cancel. Thanks in advance

Why didn't you cancel it previously? I don't believe you'll be entitled to a penny's worth of refund.

No harm in asking is there but why do something about it now ?
Just cancel the contract, your throwing £25 away.

Exactly - but you chose not to USE the service for whatever reasons you had.

Were you paying £25 from the start of the contract? This wasn't a SIM-free deal. Part of that £25 was to pay off the handset.
That aside, is there a case here that, if the OP has never placed the SIM in the handset and registered it, it could be argued that the contract has not commenced?

No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Their last login was the time they posted their original question - so we'll likely never know. But I agree there was probably an element of paying for the handset in there - I wonder what happened to the handset - was it sold on Ebay as soon as they got it? So many questions - so few answers :)
