I booked a flight for 14 people going to Dublin for 2 nights for 5/3/21-07/3/21 Obviously we are in lockdown and its unlawful to travel- RyanAir have said the flight went ahead and its non refundable.
My credit card said if the flights went ahead then there is nothing they can do. Any Advice what i can do next?

RyanAir had been offering flexibility to change and amend travel up to 7 days before travel.0

Unfortunately Ryanair are correct. Your contract with them is for a flight from point A to point B. Government restrictions at either end are not their responsibility. They only owe you a refund if they cancelled the flight. There are still some limited flights between the UK and Ireland, as there is some permitted travel. You are unlucky that yours weren't cancelled, but unfortunately you have no recourse with the airline or bank. Ryanair were offering to move flights for free but that would needed to have been done before the date of travel.
You could check your travel insurance to see if it covers you.0 -
You could have asked RA to change your date, but a bit late for that now."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Yes unfortunately, you’ve had your answer. The only possible way to get any money back is if you all hold appropriate travel insurance. However am guessing even if this was an option, the excess would probably exceed cost? Not what you want to hear as nobody likes to shell out money and not get the “goods”. Only consolation is, hopefully, you each haven’t lost a huge amount.0

Write it off as a ‘bad job’ and look forward to your next trip - even if you were within the timescale for your card provider to get involved they wouldn’t anyway, because you’re not entitled to a refund.0

Then you should of challenged the call centre agent as this appears to be different from the information you would have seen on their website or read in media adverts.

Harsh as it may be, it is not Ryanair’s fault that the Government told you not to travel.
Travel insurance (if purchased) would be one fall back.
I still think you should have explored options and avenues well before travel. Sadly I think you just left things too late.1 -

The No change fee wasnt offered to me and only applies to bookings made after the 10th June 2020 - I booked these beforehand
The only option to change was by 5 days either side? A stupid reply but one id expect from RyanAir, End of the day i had no options. Other companies are offering refunds and the CMA say they should refund as they are out of order0
