Anyone else had the email?
No more collecting points - instant offers instead
Any points under the 5000 threshold will be lost - not very customer friendly - sounds like a huge own goal - they could have easily converted them to cash

Sounds about right, though I stopped using morrisons because they decided they no longer deliver to me sicne they moved to deliver from a warehouse rather than the store near me. I can get them from amazon but then the store is so far away that you cannot buy and frozen or refidgerated goods at they ruin in the taxi ride on the way. At least amazon refunded that with no quibbles.

    Yep.
Whereas I won't really miss the points in the long run as it seems to take years to get to your £5.... the 'lose em all if you haven't got 5000 by 10 May' is extremely shady.
More reasons not to shop at Morrisons.

    Just had the email.
As a result I will shop less in Morrisons.
The final "under 5,000 points", they really should just convert it to money off.

I visited a store this morning and was informed of this change through a voucher that printed out when I scanned my card. I've already been online and cancelled the card, I want to collect points to spend as I please, not money off products or promotions THEY decide I'll like. The Coop did the same a while back, I get money off alsorts of garbage I don't ever buy - pointless.
Another reason not to shop a Morrisons.

They did. The changed to only gettting cash build up on coop products yes, but more than you got before on everything. Certainly don't get random money off offers from them. Some instore prices on some things for coop card holders I guess, but nothing like this change.

Weirdly, I got 2000 bonus points a couple of days ago by email and when I went to pick up my shiny £5 voucher today I got a message voucher saying the scheme was closing.

I can't say I'll miss it - it used to take months to get a voucher just from spending in the petrol station.  (Lidl & Aldi for groceries otherwise).

I am seriously not impressed at losing my points - I probable won’t be spending enough to make it up to a fiver before the changes happen.
They’re selling it as if it’s for our benefit but it won’t be. I don’t do big shops or buy much branded stuff so I can’t see many of their new offers applying to me.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I've saved up my supermarket points for years, using them at Christmas. It's one of the things I recommend when people say they use the big supermarkets, rather than Aldi / Lidl.

I'm cashing mine in and doing a final shop at Morrisons next week, then closing my membership. First time I have ever have closed a loyalty scheme.

Does anyone know if points can be transferred from one person to another? I have almost 4000 points, I would have had 5000 by sometime next year! Don't shop at Morrison's a lot. Wondered if i could gift these to a family member or friend, thanks, mumtoomany.

You used to get 5p in the £ on Coop products, now you only get 2p - so you get less!
You do get random offers, usually a choice from 8 money off certain products of which you can choose 2
