Lastminute.com

Hi there, First time posting so hope I'm in the right category and, although I've searched for a similar question, am not repeating many others.

I had a flight booked for a friend and I to go to the London Marathon last April. Obviously the event did not take place and the flights themselves were cancelled. Lastminute.com emailed to say I could have a money refund (minus an admin fee) or a voucher for slightly more than the value of the flights. At the time I was hoping the event would happen in October so I opted for a voucher so I could rebook the flights.
On May 1st, I recevied another email from LM saying that the voucher would be with me 'in a few days'. Since then, nothing.
They do not answer Twitter publically, Twitter DMs, Instagram posts, Instagram messages, Facebook, there are no email addresses advertised, employees on LinkedIn don't reply, and when I call the phone number I can't get through because my booking number is no longer valid (presumably because I settled for a voucher).
I tried going through my credit card company (an account I have since closed) and even though I sent them all the evidence of the emails etc, they have not gotten back to me. I'm not even sure they can help as I technically did settle for a refund.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do next? Ideally I just want my money back as I am livid with the website and want nothing to do with them ever again.
Thanks in advace. Have a lovely day.

  • Hi there!
You could try and argue that Lastmin are in Breach of Contract Under Common Law. They’ve not fulfilled their end of the contract as agreed, so they’ve not provided the flights or the voucher. So the argument would be they either perform the contract ‘as agreed’ and give you those vouchers or you would pursue them for ‘damages’ so money back to reflect the breach. In terms of getting in touch with them, try writing to their head office I believe it’s in London. Fingers crossed for you!
