Hi, First Direct now offer £100 to say goodbye. One of the qualifying criteria is to have deposited £1000 per month for 6 months prior to leaving. Can anyone tell me if the £1k per month needs to stay in the account, or can you pay £1k in  take it out, and then put it back in again next month? Thanks

Usually just means you have had to pay it in, not that you have used it for savings and kept it there. They want it to be your main active current account so getting your salary paid in would cover the £1000 a month even if you then spend it all again each month.

I had a standing order set up to move the £1000 between accounts. It never spent longer than 5 minutes in the account.

This offer has been in place for many years, and, as well as the funding requirement you mention, there is also the need to contact them and explain why you're unhappy with them, which means having a credible reason why their service has been worse than you expected, in terms of something you wouldn't have known when opening the account.
