Percentage

I went with a company called Allay. They successfully won my redress. £2,703.66 but my concern is the amount they want from that claim. £1,077.89  They are charging me 36% but I heard that by law ppi companies cant charge anymore then 20% 24% including vat. Since July 2018. Is this right please???

  • When did you sign the agreement for them to post your claim?
Stamps were a lot more expensive before July 2018.

Naivety can be sweet at times but not in this case.

CMCs send a message to the bank/firm saying you want to complain about the sale of PPI. That is basically it.    Some would email little more than your name and address to the banks on a spreadsheet with dozens of others and ask them to investigate. No reasons for complaint given.  That is effectively the extent of most CMCs work.

The date applies to when you entered into the contract.  Only contracts agreed after that date are limited.

    Expensive stamp and envelope.

It was only 2019 when they got involved and this was my husband's whom has now sadly passed. The loan company sent out a cheque in his name which had to be returned. They have since sent out the cheque in my name. This company has never been off my back.

Contracts cease on death.    Whilst they could argue they are entitled to their cut of the redress, they need to take that up with the executor of the estate.   If that was not you, you could tell them that you are not the executor of the estate and have no responsibility for the distributions within the estate and that they should take it up with the executor.     But don't tell them who the executor is.
