Please don't 'silk' it

I didn't know I was going to start the great paint wars - now I am confused, I guess I'll just have to get some sample pots now.0

Confused about what?
The choice betwixt matt and silk is a personal one - which do you prefer? Silk is more durable, but most folk with taste (
) would prefer matt on wallish surfaces. So, unless you want for some bizarre reason to go 'silk' finish, just get a tester pot(s) of the proposed colours and try it out using a small brush, brushing it out as far as it'll go - enough to let you see what the colour is like. Then, mini-short-pile roller, rolling it out thin.Jobbie jobbed. This is being over-thought...

Also depends on the room, if it's bright then matt paint is fine, if there's only a bit of natural light then silk will make it bounce around better.
Honestly it's all personal taste and what you grew up with. Shock horror, I gloss woodwork 😯 whereas others won't.

Yes, I had a strange look from the guy who did our floorboards when I said gloss few years ago.MovingForwards said:Also depends on the room, if it's bright then matt paint is fine, if there's only a bit of natural light then silk will make it bounce around better.

I think I'll go with Matt as we get good natural light (if & when it shines).
