Help please - New computer / Facebook problem.

Options
I wondered if anyone could help me with a computer problem please ?

A few years ago one of my facebook pages gained a certain number of members. As a result fb asked me to authenticate with a 2  factor authentication code. I was given the log in code and completed this task.

A few years later I bought a new computer as the one I was using had a few problems , fan not working properly etc.  so I rigged up my new computer , put in the 2 factor authentication code , but it didnt  work. facebook would not recognise me and I was unable to log in, I was locked out, losing my account and pages. So I undid my new computer and went back to using my old one and luckily was able to use fb, keeping my account and pages.
Problem I have is computers dont last forever and this one already having a fault with the fan could go at any time. When this happens I stand to lose my fb account and pages.

I am unable to contact fb , only if your page is a business page that you pay for will they help you. None of my pages have a donate button , I earn no money from them and can not afford to pay fb an ongoing fee. I've spent years building up these community  pages and dont want to lose them or my account.

So I need to find out now before it breaks , how do I use a new computer without losing my fb account and pages ?

If you're using a profile based browser like Firefox or Opera, should be able to copy the profile and it should carry on.

You changing computers shouldn't affect the way this works, I can only presume you're using an old authentication code?  These are generated when you log in (text?) and you can't use them again after they've been used.

So assuming your Facebook account has the right mobile phone number, just log into it on the new computer, you get a text, you put that into the box and you're in.  Realistically Facebook would have a very small market if the user base can't get in after changing their computer ;)

So will that still work even though I never log out ? when this computer breaks I will be logged in on it still.

In theory you can be logged in as many computers and phones as you like.  You can disconnect old/stray sessions when you're logged into that account on any of them.
