Bird Box Camera advice, replacement for old PoE IP Encoder

Hi All
I have a TrendNet TV-VS1P Single Channel PoE Analog to IP Video Encoder but it uses Java and so pretty much as soon as I got it I was having to mess with Java security and browser security settings to get it to display and now I can't even do that so can't reach some of the menus, eg. motion detection area select, so I would really like to replace it but don't really want to spend another £100 on kit. It sits in the shed, it has power, it's attached to the camera in the box and then via CAT5 to my router in the house, I am wondering if it is overkill in itself? Is there something else I can use?
Thanks in advance

https://ipvm.com/forums/video-surveillance/topics/trendnet-tv-vs1p-single-channel-encoder seems to imply you can watch the video stream (presumably the reason for the Java thing?) in something like VLC.

Thanks Neil, I am able to watch the stream over various apps but it's the configuration that is getting harder and harder as this now needs to be done via an old version of internet explorer, hence the need to replace.0

Well according go https://www.trendnet.com/support/support-detail.asp?prod=145_TV-VS1P#faq most of the contraol panel should work in any other browser. Internet Explorer 11 is still present in Windows 10 (hidden, but still present) and that does support ActiveX you need. Just type iexplore into the search bar and there it is. Internet Explorer 11 will continue receiving security updates and technical support for the lifecycle of the version of Windows on which it is installed. Should give you another year or so at least. Worth a shot?

Thanks again Neil, I am aware of the above. The section I can no longer access is the motion detection selection area that requires both the control panel and video view to work which means I need Java and no matter what security settings I use just will not display.
Delving deeper into that link it seems there is a software called SecurView Pro that may help, will give that a go, thanks again.0 -
Nope
Can't find an old enough version of SecurView Pro. Looks like Trendnet had issues with security in 2012ish and removed the world Secur from their packages. Can only find TrendnetView Pro which does NOT support the TV-VS1P.

I've got three POE Birdbox cameras plugged into a HIKVision POE NVR alongside my regular security CCTV cameras. I'm able to view/record/playback as I do with any of my cameras through the HIKVision app - although I'm lacking in birds at the moment, and can only see three empty boxes. Do you have an existing NVR CCTV system by any chance?0

Hiya, yes CCTV and a Synology NAS which did actually let me set motion detection but just keeps disconnecting the camera randomly.
Also lacking in birds here, 3 boxes but only 1 camera, what's the betting they nest in one of the othersMind you, it's still early, could start any time in the next month
Maybe I should use that month to keep tweaking the NAS option.0
