£500 Tax Credits payment. Award ending.

I'm currently receiving Tax Credits (TC), but my award will not be renewing in early April for the 2021/2022 tax year as my work ended and I returned to Employment & Support Allowance (ESA). I got TC instead of Universal Credit (UC) to top up my income this current tax year, as I had previously been receiving the Severe Disability Premium with my ESA. My TC continue to be paid until 5th April, with the amount received deducted from my ESA. Post April 5th I will receive my full ESA award.
With my Tax Credits award ending will I still be eligible for the £500 one-off payment due to be paid by 23rd April? The eligibility criteria states that those in receipt of Tax Credits on 2nd March 2021 may be eligible for the payment. I was receiving TCs on that date but, as I've said, my TC award ends on 5th April. Will I get the £500?

I don’t know the answer. The eligibility date is 2nd March but the payment date is April which may mean that those not still receiving Tax Credits in April do not receive the payment. As always with these announcements not all the details are always immediately clear.
I think it likely that you will receive the payment but if your concern is budgeting I suggest the prudent course is for you to budget without it for the time being.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.1 -
I am hoping someone can advise me please. My husband is in receipt of ESA, PIP and higher rate mobility allowance and i receive carers allowance, so i am not sure, if he will be entitled to the £500 award, although it says people on the enhanced disability allowance will receive it, all a little bit confusing, don't want them giving him something he shouldn't have, then got to pay it back.0

You won't be entitled to the £500 one off payment because it applies to those claiming working tax credits only.
