Alanp said:it seems that manufacturers are fitting cheap or sub standard batteries which seem more problematic with hybrid/ mild hybrid cars..Lighter batteries to make their MPG figures better? My old Zafira has had problems with the battery this winter. A combination of the battery not liking the lights and blower on, every time I use the car; they are short journies too.My works vehicle has an isolator, being on stand-by 24/7 is a drain on the battery, with all this modern technology.1

People on the Toyota forum are suggesting that the keyless entry system is a big drain on the battery, mi puma had keyless too, so maybe this is part of the problem…?1

Alanp said:I had this on my puma, low battery and deep sleep messages used to frequently appear, some on the forum had their rombat batteries swapped for varta ones with varying degrees of success others had modules updated again, with various success rates, I’m not sure they completely resolved this problem, I would advise you to join the focus forums and seek advice there, incidentally, I changed my puma for a Yaris cross, all fine until the Christmas break where my car stood unused for two days, the battery went flat and I had to use the Toyota assist, similar stories on the forum with owners changing their factory fit batteries for yuasa ones, it seems that manufacturers are fitting cheap or sub standard batteries which seem more problematic with hybrid/ mild hybrid cars..
Did you get rid of the Puma because of the problems with the battery drain?
I think I have heard of the make Yuasa.
Yeah I've started looking on the Focus forums for answers but haven't seen a fix yet.If i could i would, but i cannot so i wont, but maybe one day i will.0 -

battery the tray/box can manage.
I think I will have to start pricing them up and as you say get the biggest one that will fit.If i could i would, but i cannot so i wont, but maybe one day i will.0 -
I had a similar problem with our firms Transit van ,would start and run most days but hated very cold mornings ,went to a scrap yard and bought a battery tray of an earlier Transit that was fitted on the other side of the engine bay ,fitted the tray and bought a second battery ,joint them together and never had a problem since.1
