Aldermore and valuation

Just curious, will anyone let us know when a valuation is booked?

  • With us, we had the valuation fee leave our account and then our broker informed us that meant it would be done within the next week. We didn't get a specific date but it was about 10 days after this that the valuation came back okay.

Thanks for the response. We paid the fee the day our application was submitted, which was last Friday. No news is driving me crazy! Don't want to annoy my mortgage broker though
  • Totally get it - Aldermore seem to like having people wait! We're waiting for a revised offer which is getting my nerves going.

Hopefully you'll hear by Wednesday - I'd maybe ask your broker if they know if the valuation has been actioned

Yeah I think I'll give them an email Tuesday to see what's going on, she did say early next week at the latest so think Tuesday seems reasonable to ask for an update!

No they don’t let you or your mortgage advisor know, the seller of the house told me the appointment had been booked, its usually the first thing Aldermore do, unless like me, your mortgage advisor asks for the underwriting to be done first (my case was very close to maximum affordability so he asked for the underwriting to be done first as if I failed that part there would be no need for a valuation and I would have had a refund of the valuation fee that I paid on application).

Ah thanks for this, I don't think mine asked for anything like that, if she did she didn't tell me. I just hate waiting haha I'm convinced my dodgy credit will lose us our dream house!

I was in the same boat, try to stay positive but prepare for a 3-4 week wait! They came back to me twice - once because they said they hadn’t received one of my payslips (mortgage advisor just re-sent straight away) and the second time to query transactions on my account, might be quicker if they have no queries.

Can I ask what they queried on your bank statement? Obviously feel free to not answer that one, I appreciate its quite personal! I use my card for pretty much everything and my bank statements went on for forever 😅 well its been a full week already, so hopefully only 3 to go 🤞

Not at all - it was transactions to and from my daughter! She still lives at home and gives me a chunk of money each month when she gets paid so she doesn’t spend everything on clothes and makeup in the first 2 days! I drip feed it to her through the month 😂
Don’t worry about your card usage, that won’t be a problem 😊
