joedenise said:Well done on the LBM and posting here. It's probably the hardest step to admit you have lots of debt. Sounds as though things will be better once your business picks up a bit.
In the meantime could you do some EBay or Gumtree selling to raise some funds or do some surveys to try and raise a bit more money?joedenise said:Well done on the LBM and posting here. Try regarding decluttering Ziffit which is a good site for if your like me a book worm you can sell books on there and you will get more money than music magpie. Old used or knackered tech do try music magpie for old phones or dvds or ipods or old tablets etc0 -

I'm back! Had a busy couple of weeks, but doing really well with the debt free journey! I need to sit down and work through the figures exactly but to date I've managed to pay off a couple of hundred of the overdraft, and I've potentially got some more to throw at it next week. I've been focusing on my business accounts and that side of things, which has helped actually. The last ditch grant I applied for from my local council was actually approved! I was in disbelief when I saw the email, it's the first time we've been given anything that we don't have to pay back. Couldn't quite believe it. The timing's great as we've some heavy maintenance bills coming up for a couple of vehicles, and potentially we may receive something from them every 6 weeks for a couple more months. It's definitely eased a bit of the weight from my shoulders, and means I have a tiny pot of reserve cash to dip into for the business instead of grasping at our personal finances and getting further into debt.
Enough waffling anyway, hopefully I'll be back in a few days to crunch some numbers and update my debt totals - I think it will really motivate me! I already feel like we've made progress as it's almost pay day and our current account is still in credit. First time in over a year we've not dipped into our overdraft on that account.
Hope everyone else is doing well!

Obviously just be aware of the fact your 0% credit card deals are coming to an end fairly shortly. Once they're all fully interest-bearing they'll be adding around £250-£300/month in interest to your expenses. You still have a little time so definitely have a good look at the budget to see how that might be accommodated.1

Back with some updated figures. Things have been going well with the budget and repayments. Managed to pay a little bit more off the overdraft using some cashback which cleared through on Quidco. Unfortunately had to add something on to the Paypal Credit account - our fence died a death and whilst I am being MSE to reduce the costs (meaning the costs will just be for the posts and the wood treatment), the total cost of the posts is over £100 which I've put on 4 months interest free with Paypal. Also did the same with new car tyres
Credit card totals - £27.463.21
Paypal credit - £2369.42
Overdraft - £1139.27
So an overall reduction of £805.73 to the overdraft, £622.10 overall, since the 12th of March.
I've got just over £400 sat in a separate account in case I need to dip into it this month - hopefully I won't, and then I can throw this at the overdraft too!
Hope everyone else is doing well and staying motivated.1 -

Well done @seriouslyunsurprising, that's amazing progress in just a few weeks! Keep up the great work. Every £ paid off now is a £ you won't pay interest on again.1
