I presume it is, I am planning to do the same - in terms of making the initial payment on credit card, and then the monthly payment out of my current account.0

Yes, they all do it (or any I've leased from anyway, and it's quite a few).0

I've been in contact with three today and all said they couldn't. Maybe it's changed? This is before any credit check just flat out on enquiry saying no.0

Are you talking about PCH or PCP? In case of PCP, you might be able to pay reservation fee or small deposit on card but any PCP or PCH payments will go out from your account as direct debit.
