When I ordered something from a company I made an error in one of the selections. Their terms said just to email them straight away with any changes that needed to be made so I did. As I result they ended up sending me the old order and the new one but only charged me once.
When this happened I sent them an e-mail straight away. This was February 9th. Since then it has taken them at least a week at a time to respond to my e-mails. It is quite a bulky order and they have confirmed that I cannot keep it. They got me to print off a returns label for an all day collection but no-one came. Now they are saying they will sort another return so once again I have to print the returns label. Last time the collection was last minute (as in they sent it whilst I was asleep and said it would be collected next day).
To be fair they are in a different part of the world so they aren't sleeping when I am.
I know it isn't counted as unsolicited goods because I placed an original order but does anyone know where I stand please? Or do I have to keep chasing them to collect the goods and printing labels at my own expense? (or wait 6 years I believe I can keep them).
Thank you.

Is printing labels really that arduous? Is it too bulky for you to take it to a suitable parcels drop-off point?0

Yes it is far too bulky to take. No but I don't see why I should have to keep paying for their mistake tbh. Thank you for your feedback.1

Yes, those are your choices. Plus a third. Write to them and say that if they don't collect within 14 days you will sell the item and they can request the proceeds. If that's what ends up happening, be aware you can't give them away for next to nothing.killzusall said:Or do I have to keep chasing them to collect the goods and printing labels at my own expense? Oh thank you, I did not realise that was an option.0

I'm normally the first one to point out that if a retailer doesn't check whether orders have been cancelled before dispatch, that's on them/within their control. And also that normally, if you withdraw an offer before it is accepted, then no contract can be formed.
But wasn't it your mistake, that caused their mistake? So isn't it your mistake both you & them are paying for?
Now with that said, if they're in a different part of the world and that part is in a place far away enough to make a difference to sleep schedules....you may find any advice given here isn't correct as we tend to deal exclusively with the laws of the UK and, to a lesser extent, the EU.
How about just asking them for more notice or giving them a list of dates/times you'll be available and ask them to let you know in advance which they will be choosing (so you're not sitting around on every day you suggest)?
