I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back11 -
Morning all. Sunny and yet raining here,I'm as confused as the weather. I used up the chicken and peppers and some onions yesterday and made two enormous trays of fajits stuff so it's ready to go whenever.I had three shopping experiences yesterday of which, only one was satisfactory. First one kept me waiting outside [ which I was prepared for anyway] but as I was only there to pick something up, they managed [ two out of three free people in the shop] to ignore me for five minutes which might not sound like much but when it's freezing and you're not adequately dressed is a long time. The second one, I bought postage online for a parcel to go abroad, printed the customs docs out, all three of them, attached them and the postage, took it to the post office and sent it on Wednesday. She came round yesterday afternoon, there's a problem, can you come and fill in more forms. I was thinking, I thought I already had online and printed them out? No, you need more. FIne, I'll be there after my cup of coffee. Went there, waited ten minutes this time, got in, got to the counter, where I filled in another form then spent another twenty mintues while she tried to find a sticker. Are you sure I need one because I have paid online and already filled out these forms? Yes, it won't get picked up without one. Couldn't find the sticker, all the while telling me, as if it were my fault, if I can't find it, it won't go. Eventually, I asked if there was another post office nearby, yes, down the road, past the horrendous traffic lights because of works going on. Went there. Young boy serving. Hiya, can I send this only the lady at the other post office said I need a special sticker and she doesn't have one. He scans it, looks at it, adds the extra custom form I've filled in, no, you're alright, you paid online so the barcode is already there. You've printed it out. Are you sure? Because she was most insistent I needed one. No, you've paid online it's fine. Shut the front door!!! And i trip merrily out of there before he can change his mind. And that in no way expresses the amount of frustration I was feeling and the elation that followed. And how much I will never go tot that particular post office ever again with the super unsmiling woman who makes a speciality of being rude. She's been like this for years, but it's finally got to me.And I willl stop now and wish TA many happy returns, a big piece of cake and an interesting day. So sorry about your sister dumpling, I hope she manages to get done what she wants to and enjoys her time while she can. Nanny, do cucumber slices help? Have a nice lie down with some and see what occurs..How awful Ruby and well done you for trying to help. I will leave before I start ranting again, have a lovely day all, stay sane...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi9

Morning All
Happy Birthday TA! Hope you celebrate with lots of cake, oh to be 25, I remember it well!
Sorry to hear of your DSis's illness, make the most of the time you have.
Happy Birthday to your DD too dp1, hope she is settling in Germany.
Pleased to hear you're feeling a bit better maddie.
Well it's a day and a half here, one minute bright sunshine and the next it's hurtling down with hail and sleet thrown in. There was snow on the hills too when I left for work.
My car passed it's MOT so I suppose I shall keep it for another year! It had a service too, only did 5500 miles last year, I usually do between 10 and 12 thousand. Sadly they didn't wash it before it came back but the weather's so bad it would be mucky again very soon.
Fish for lunch today (from the school kitchen), saves cooking later. Have a good day, take care. XX10 -
Morning folks and thanks DUMPLING for the start but I was so sorry to read the news about your sister. It's so terribly sad, especially at such a young age.
Thank you for the birthday wishes. BELLA ha ha, 25 I wish!!! Add another 50 years and you'll have got it right! (And happy birthday to your DD too) This is the first chance I have had to post! I was merrily opening my cards and pressies when my friend in Oz rang at 8.30 and we were on for the customary 2 hours! I could hear texts coming thick and fast from the family What'sApp group in the meantime! Anyway all cards and pressies have now been opened. I just have one from DS and his DP yet to come, they are calling for a doorstep chat when he finishes work. I have got some gorgeous things and am currently shovelling in Lindt chocs one after another! Mmmm! This will be a different birthday to last year's pre-lockdown one when me and DD had a day in Leeds for a lovely lunch and cocktails! One day those days might return! DD and youngest DGD called yesterday with my cards and pressies and they are all calling when she finishes work this afternoon. I am going to their house on Sunday for a combined birthday and Mother's Day get together. (We form a bubble so no rule breaking going on!)
No NAN there will be no Friday Tidy, I did that yesterday in readiness for a day of sloth. I set the wm going at 8.00 and that is still waiting to be emptied! That will be the only job I am doing today! Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all our poorlies, convalescents, carers and p****d off! Take care all and avoid Post Offices TAFF. x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -
Just popping in to say Happy Birthday to the the lovely TA. Have a great day and hope the cake and beverage of your choice keeps flowing 🍰🎂🥂
Sorry for my absence I am having some problems with my hands which makes typing very difficult at the moment. As Arnie says I'll be back 💪11 -
Came back to wish TA a really happy birthday - cakes and fizz are obligatory today. And to DP1's DD too.As Camelot said, one moment it's bright sunshine here and then suddenly there's a ferocious rain storm which lasts about 10 minutes and moves on, until the next one. These mini storms stopped me from queuing outside M&S, life is most miserable enough without that.

A late happy birthday from me TA. Brian has been at home in London for the last three days and Laura got some work in as well as college so my days have been rather full. I am hoping to have a lazy weekend. Steve is feeling a little better after two bad days post treatment but the doctor booked him in for a CT scan on Tuesday to check that there is nothing sinister going on, so still some residual worry there.
Dumpling, I am so sorry about your sister's news.7 -
I'm back to send late happy birthday wishes to TA, hope you had a good day lovely lady.Nanny DH told me he'd read that hairdressers are opening in Wales on Monday - is this true? if so I'm coming down, wonder if you can put me up for a night, I'll pay the going rate !3
