Personal Injury, 4 months to the 3 year mark.

Hope this is the correct section to ask this.
I was under the impression that I had 3 years to make a claim re a personal injury.
Was injured by a bus in July 2018, relatively minor injury to the foot. Bleeding, but nothing serious. The bus company's insurers offered around £300 at the time. Have spoken to 8 law firms today, they've all said that they'd need 6 months to work on my claim therefore they can't help. So in reality, the 3 years is a bit misleading.
One firm suggested that I keep calling around for someone who'd be willing to take it on, but it's not looking like I'll find anyone. The other option he mentioned, was filing for the claim myself. He referred me to this page https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/form-n1-claim-form-cpr-part-7
If anyone could suggest how this could be done, or suggest a law firm that would be able to assist with 4 months to go, that would be much appreciated.

Do you really think you will get substantially more than £300 based on events nearly 3 years ago?0

If you wanted to claim why on earth leave it until this point?1

Maybe they are having problems now as a result. What costs have you had for treatment etc?1

Thanks. Took a while for a decent person to answer, but we got there.
Could have taken time off of work, but went on as normal. So no extra costs.
My understanding is that though one has 3 years from the date of the incident, it would seem that solicitors require at least 6 months to do the work.
So my query at this point is, how do I make the claim myself? A kind paralegal has directed me to this information.
