Good evening, I recently started a chargeback process for £1192.11  with Ryanair, due to my flight still going at Christmas and being unable to fly due to restrictions in Spain. I had a further flight booked in May , which I requested to move to October last Sunday , they did this at a further cost of £300, no problem. Today I have found that I can not access the flight on the app, after speaking to customer service they say that I have an outstanding balance due to the chargeback of £1192.11.  On investigating the new charge for the flights and the move ii comes to  exactly £1192.11, they are saying that if I want to fly in October I have to pay a further £1192.11, Have I just been done over by Ryanair??? is this legal? What are the chances that the new flight and the charge back are the same amount?

If the flight still operated then you were not eligible for a refund or charge back. It is not thay the new flight is the same cost as the previous flight, it is that because of the incorrect chargeback you owe Ryan Air the money and they will not let you fly whilst in debt to them. You might also find you shortly receive a notice before action and then if you refuse to pay, they will likely take you to court.

They already have the money, as I have paid the exact amount for the flights in October, they knew exactly what they were doing. They had not previously requested the money until I moved the  May flight. I am therefore not in debt to them as they have the money for the October flight and will not allow us to go. Morally corrupt. If I had not charged the flight last Sunday at least I will still have 300 pounds

You were not entitled to the chargeback of £1192.11, therefore you owe Ryan Air that amount as you received it back via the chargeback process. That is the debt you have with Ryan Air and that is the debt they will likely enforce and they certainly will not be allowing you to fly again until you have repaid that money.

As per the other thread, you can't really call them morally corrupt when you're the one trying to claim back money you're not entitled to...
