Paint BT Fibre broadband box & cables

Hi all
Ive just had BT Fibre Broadband installed which is great and working well, but I now have this rather ugly box and black cables on the front of my house. 
I have exterior paint which matches the colour of the wall...can I paint the box and the cables? Or is there some reason why it would be unsafe to paint cables? Any advice appreciated! Thanks.

I've painted plenty of cables with no detriment. Suspect same would apply to the box, being made of plastic. Suitable plastic spray paint would probably give a better look than masonry paint. I think technically the box belongs to Openreach so you'd have to deny if anyone complained....

Excellent idea, find something that covers the whole lot, it will look far nicer than paint
