Changing Linked Account

Hi, I have started a current account switch from my M&S account to a new Virgin Money account. I have savings accounts linked to the M&S current account. I know that all my DDs & SOs will be transferred to my new Virgin account, but will the linked savings accounts be transferred to the new account, or will I have to do it manually? Thanks in advance for any help

You have to update all your savings accounts manually.

Yes , you will need to manually change them.
You have time though as any payment made from your linked savings account to your old current account will be redirected to your new current account for two years ( might even be 36 months ? ) if using the CASS.
So no rush but you will need to get it done

I haven't used Virgin specifically, but had something similar with Marcus. If you request a small withdrawal from your savings account to your linked current account (after the switch completes), the withdrawal will be forwarded onto your new current account. Your old bank should then automatically notify the sender (Virgin) that your account details have been updated, which may prompt them to update the linked account automatically. If not, then as above you'll need to do it manually, through whatever process Virgin has for this.

Thanks Costabit and Praisethesun. I didn't know that they would redirect any payments for two years, at least. The new Virgin account completes on the 20th of this month, so plenty of time to sort it.  Thanks again for your help
