Cash plus & APS financial - trusted banks?

Has anyone had any experience paying money into one of these accounts? My builder has given me account details to pay a deposit for a garden project but my Barclays banking app didn’t like the account her gave me: ‘the details couldn’t be verified’ In the end he gave me his personal bank details and I transferred the deposit into there no problem.
He’s started the garden project and need another payment soon but I’m hesitant to use this account. What are your thoughts & experiences please? Is this an actual registered bank? I’ve looked up APS financial and the reviews aren’t good!
Many thanks

APS financila isn't a bank. It's a company providing a prepaid card - Cashplus.I think it's your builder who has to ask questions about this, not you. I guess for him it's a way of hiding his income from taxation.0

I don't think it's a taxation thing. Cash plus is a bank account mainly for people with poor credit. People who can't get business accounts elsewhere.grumbler said:APS financila isn't a bank. I guess for him it's a way of hiding his income from taxation.I'd bear that in mind when paying upfront for anything. It's a legitimate bank. It mightn't be part of the verification scheme. Handelsbanken weren't last time I had to make a payment, but they're fully legitimate.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
