Credit File - Vodafone issue

Hi,
I recently returned to the UK after spending many years overseas.
I checked my Experian credit report and noticed a red alert that £44 was owed to Vodafone. (I did have a Vodafone account roughly 6 years ago). I believe at the time I closed my account but this obviously not the case.
I’ve tried to get in contact with Vodafone but it’s near on impossible, i’ve been waiting for a call back for weeks.
I just want to have this settled/removed off my account.
Does anyone have any advice or an email address to contact vodafone?
Or is there an alternative solution.
Many thanks in advance

The entry will disappear 6 years after something like the default date (depends how they did it) so whether it gets settled or not it'll disappear in the next year or so (depending on when the date is entered) and to be honest will have limited impact now. They won't remove it however if it's correctly applied.
Is there any indication they sold the debt on though?0 -
Check your files for the date it was added - if you've been out of the UK for the last 6 years it may be towards the end of the 6 years period it appears on your files and the 6 year statute barred period meaning you might not need to pay it off.
I'd avoid any written correspondence (letter/email) in case this counts as "acknowledging" the debt. I found in the past that I got a pretty prompt response when calling their dedicated complaints line - maybe try again at a different time of day?1 -
Whether he acknowledges it or not, they're highly unlikely to do anything daft like go for a CCJ at this point, the question will be when they did the default. If they did something stupid like not default it until ages after, he will have to talk to them anyway to get the date changed. So either pay up and it disappears as settled, or ignore and it disappears as unsettled0

Thank you for your responses.
No the debt has never been passed on as nothing has ever come through the door or been emailed to me about it.
The date seems to be 2018 on the file however i left early 2014 so not sure why such a delay.0 -
You should complain to them about that (in writing, marked as complaint) as the guidance is 3-6 months after missed payments as to when the default should be applied, not 4 years0
