I travelled for a year on a round the world trip using only my nationwide debit card for funds. Canada, us, fiji, nz. oz, singapore, malaysia, thailand, japan and without a hitch! I had the card protection thing with the promise of a replacement card anywhere within 24-48hrs should the worst happen. Whenever i landed in a new country i just went straight to the atm in the airport with a visa sign- no probs. It works and i checked online as i travelled. Try it, i definitely recommend it0
