ScottishPower - New Customer - Gas remains in progress a week after Electric completed?

You're not paying for the same fuel twice, you're paying both energy companies but one will end up refunding you the money.saintscouple said:What i don't like is whilst the gas is still with the old supplier i'm expected to pay both them and Scottishpower for duel fuel on both!
Anyone had an experience like this, and any ideas how to get it resolved?
First of all you need to find out who is registered as your current provider.

If it names your new supplier then your old supplier needs to update their details.
If it names your old supplier then it's likely your switch has failed (or blocked by your old supplier) and you need to contact your new supplier. The database doesn't always update immediately though, mine took a week (during which time my old supplier, also scottish power, weren't any use whatsoever).

Leave SP as soon as you can awful company. Had my final bill, used my electric meter reading on my gas and electric bill over 4 hours for phone back today and have to wait a week to speak to someone from billing and give them a 3 hour window to phone. The young chap had no idea how to read my bills and had to keep contacting a supervisor. On the phone to him over an hour whist he waited for a reply. Absolutely useless.0

Further update.
This week on the 28th April the gas finally made it's way to SP, originally requested on 13th Feb.
They now have to close both electric and gas accounts, and create a new dual fuel account with the original tariff that i requested, which is no longer available....... and then discuss compensation.
Just checked and all accounts are now closed, but no new account created just yet.0 -
I was with SP a total of 9 weeks. I had 7 different final bills from SP took me 3 weeks to get to speak to a customer manager, who dealt with complaints. Said she was independent, but with consumer protection not sure how she accessed my details if she didn't work for SP. I was given compensation for all their incompetence, but it takes them up to 20 days to send out the cheque ! Still waiting. You would have thought the lady would have just got it done. Since then I've had 3 more emails telling me my final balance is zero.

Matter now concluded... only took 2 months.
Dual Fuel account set up correctly, with original end date. Old accounts closed down with credit balances transferred to new account. Compensation agreed and will be in my bank account within 5 working days.
Thanks to everyone for their comments.0
