Name change

My mum who is divorced is still using her married surname she wants to go back to her maiden name what's the easiest way to do this also would we need to inform bank life insurance and dwp of the name change  and how would we do this many thanks

    She can DIY and let the relevant people know, or do it more formally. Both options covered in here.  No need to pay a solicitor either way.

    If she is still working or does a tax return, add HMRC and pension company to the list of people to inform.

    My ex wife (now remarried) still uses my surname for everything. Is this legal?

    Yes, although I don’t see what any of this is to do with deaths funerals or probate.
