Will Marks be compensating its account holders for withdrawing this facility at such short notice?

Why? Nearly six months notice seems fine to me.
Do Money Saving sites make you buy more bargains - and spend more money?4 -
Assuming you're an current account holder, what does the terms say (that you agreed) about the notice they will give?5

What loss have you incurred from being notified your account is to be closed in 6 months which you need to be compensated for? My guess is basically none. Even then as stated above they have given notice in line with their T&Cs which we all agreed to when opening their account.
That said you can still get a bit of money out of them if you currently hold a regular saver, as they are paying early interest as discussed here:

Why do you think 6 months is short notice? Short notice would be cancelling an account immediately as some people here have experienced with other banks.clibay said:Will Marks be compensating its account holders for withdrawing this facility at such short notice?
You have plenty of time to organise alternatives. I've already put a switch in motion to move to an alternative. It's not a difficult process.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.1
