DRO granted but UC joint claim started

Hi,

my DRO was just accepted today but within the last week, me and my partner have started a claim for Universal Credit as he’s now lost his job. Technically we are worse off now because of him losing his job, than when I filled out the DRO paperwork so I still will be left with under £50 at the end of each month. Do I still need to let the DRO team know this or what should I do? Panicking a little in case I’ve missed something.
Thank you!

We often get asked questions along the lines of 'I've had a change in circumstances but I still meet the DRO criteria - should I tell them?'

I think the letter you get initially says you should, and it is good form to do so.

Just an email would be enough.

For someone who is half of a joint UC claim it is very unlikely (almost wrote impossible) to breach the surplus income rule for a DRO

Thank you so much for the advice. I’ll email them on the email they gave on my conformation details.
