Dell inspiron 15 5000. I checked the specifications online and can't see one.
It's the third connector from the back on the left hand side:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHCVS2L9bDQ
Using ethernet will improve zoom

UPDATE:I've tried headphones, an external mic, and various devices (old laptop, new Chromebook, Android phone) as well as the Dell, and I'm getting the same problem with all of them.Recently, people tell me I'm causing them feedback and they can hear clicking sounds every time I click my mouse.I've had a go at setting up a Google Meet call with myself to see if I can replicate the problem, and it sounds pretty awful! Even if I have one device downstairs at the back of the house and the other upstairs at the front of the house, I can hear the clicking and feedback. No wonder people keep muting me!!I've done a further Broadband test using 3 different sites (speedtest, nperf and Comparitech). I get over 100mb on the download speed with each of these. However, on ping/latency I get a score of 19, and don't know what this means.I get 23ms on 'Jutter". Similarly, I don't know what this means. Finally, on Upload Mbps I get between 2.83 and 5.23. I think these seem to be low, but I'm not sure what the average would be.I'm with Virgin Media. Could the problem be my broadband?I've avoided getting the ethernet lead so far as it would be a fairly long lead right through the sitting room. But if it's necessary I could get one. Would this be likely to improve the Upload Mbps? What Upload Mbps should I be aiming for?Would it be worthwhile phoning Virgin and asking them about my upload speed? Thanks in advance for any further help with this.0

Feedback is caused by a microphone picking up the noise from a speaker that has picked up the noise from a microphone... Microphone feedback is a positive gain loop between a microphone and a loudspeaker. Speakers amplify the mic signal and the then mic picks up the sound from the speakers. This positive gain loop continues and the system overloads, resulting in the terrible screech of microphone feedback. It is nothing to do with the broadband, this is normally caused by putting a microphone too close to a speaker. It may not even be caused by you. Because of the way Zoom and Teams work with multiple audio sources active, it only needs one microphone to hear a speaker and set off a feedback loop. You may need to reduce the sensitivity of your microphone.1

Neil, I did try to separate the mic and speaker by using headphones and a separate mic which I moved away from the device.
I'm pretty sure the problem is coming from me, as it happens with a few different groups. Funnily enough, it does not seem to happen when I'm in a call with only one other person.
I've already turned down the volume of the mic.
I did reset my hub today and my upload speed has gone up to 8. My next calls are at the weekend, so I'll see if it has improved.0 -
It sounds to me like you have a second microphone that is live. Maybe on your laptop vs headset or separate microphone.I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0
