Nationwide Credit Cards - problems getting a refund under Section 75

I'm sorry you feel that way. I remembered I had posted here and I came back only to update everyone on what actually happened with all the parties, including the credit card company. Some of us like to encourage others to stand up for themselves. I have spent the last few years working with the homeless, mentoring them, and helping them to get them places to live, clothes to wear and food to eat, even handing out food to them on the streets, even in cold and wet weather, and sometimes having to give them first aid. I like to help others.

Your entire returning post was based on the false assumption that the manufacturer offering you a refund (or whoever it was) meant the tyres were faulty and you were due a refund under the CRA. The manufacturer clearly did not say they were faulty (not that I'd expect them to) so you cannot assume that the refund was because you were legally entitled to one.jsharris99 said:I'm sorry you feel that way. It stands to reason that if you were not refunded under the CRA, it's not unreasonable at all for your credit card company to refuse to refund you out of their own pocket. So you "highlighting" the CC not following the law is simply wrong. There is no indication that they've not, as you have no proof that the tyres were faulty (something that you can be required to do under the CRA after so much time elapses and something you would likely have had to do to have an actual claim against the CC company.)
They were never going to offer you a GOGW refund like the manufacturer did, and certainly have no legal obligation to do so.1 -
If you know better than the Citizens Advice Bureaux, perhaps you could volunteer for them ? I followed their advice. Their next advice was to refer the credit card company to the Financial Ombudsman. Who's wrong - you or the CAB ?0

CAB were clearly wrong (not the first time)jsharris99 said:If you know better than the Citizens Advice Bureaux, perhaps you could volunteer for them ? I followed their advice. Their next advice was to refer the credit card company to the Financial Ombudsman. Who's wrong - you or the CAB ?
Nationwide asked you to get an independent report, which is entirely reasonable and something they are entitled to do under the Consumer Rights Act. You should have done that. The next step would have been an official complaint, the next step after that would have been the Financial ombudsman (all assuming you had a report stating they were inherently faulty.)1 -

you'll find a few CAB volunteers and staff on these boards who are often shocked at the shoddy advice some people 'claim' to have been given.Funny how after getting 'expert' advice they trust so much they feel the need to get a second opinion here!1 -
You seem to know more about the credit card companies procedures than I or the CAB do. I can give you their number if you'd like to give them some guidance?

No. CAB is pretty much staffed entirely by volunteers. I like getting paid.jsharris99 said:You seem to know more about the credit card companies procedures than I or the CAB do. I can give you their number if you'd like to give them some guidance?
You can give tell them this website to use though, it's free. www.google.com1 -

This google'd link seems to show one poor lady who also had a problem with her credit card company and after getting it referred to the financial ombudsman she got even more money from the credit card company including interest at 8% and payment for delays than the original amount she was claiming for. Thanks for your advice but I'd rather believe Amalia and Martin Lewis and the CAB.
