I have been trying to find the answer to a simple question on this, but I can't seem to frame the question in a way which Google can home in on. The question is WHEN was the £30,000 limit last changed? It seems to have been stuck on £30,000 for many years. This seems to be a classic case of 'fiscal drag' helping the Treasury.

It was £30K when I was made redundant in 1994, can't find an answer to the question though.

the current limits look to be in
https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2003/1/part/6/chapter/3
you would need to go back before then, not obvious what legislation that section replaced.
I did try but not found anything relevant yet, might be something in old EAT cases0
