Is Section 75 protection available for problems older than 6 years

I have 2 linked problems, both with reference to a conservatory finished and paid for in 2011. 1) I paid for part of it with an Egg credit card, which is now extinct, taken over by Barclaycard - so does that mean Barclaycard have taken over responsibility? 2) Barclaycard state on the Section 75 part of their website that they will not deal with matters older than 6 years, so in terms of the purchase I appear to be out of time but - a) I thought there was no actual time limit to Section 75 b) the conservatory supplier has made repeated efforts to bodge the building so it doesn't leak every time we have a storm, despite our statements that it is not of a suitable standard and needed a replacement roof back in 2013 and almost every year ever since. Can I ask Barclaycard to consider my case as a special case?
Anyone got any suggestions apart from turn back time?!

After this length of time, I can't see you getting anywhere. I'd go to a recommended decent local supplier and get a quote to fix it once and for all, then consider whether you want to try and pursue the original supplier for the cost in the small claims court (assuming the cost falls under the threshold).

I would say no. But you can ask Barclaycard. The fact it has been going on so long does not go in your favor.Life in the slow lane0

They will probably deny any responsibility under the Limitation Act https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1980/58
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
