Aldi has very cheap stuff on offer this week, worth a try!
  • But what if you've got a dog?
I'm writing a book on plagiarism. It wasn't my idea.

I've tried scrubbing my patio with my dog, but he's never happy about it. Runs off and hides.
Think that's what ours would do!! (Though I've no idea where to stick the handle!!)

I've used a Karcher pressure washer many times without blasting out the pointing.  There is an attachment called a T racer specifically for cleaning paving which has a circular head surrounded by bristles, enclosing a spinning head which doesn' apply as much force as a lance and, in my experience, does a far better job.
I've got one of those spinning attachment heads and have tried a couple of years ago to clean my patio with it after the winter and again it doesn't touch the build up - am not sure if that's because the pressure isn't enough or I need some preparatory chemical down first to break down the build up?
It's best described as just slime and algae.
I would suspect it is down to water pressure as ours does a brilliant job.  It doesn't remove all the black algae spots, but I don't think most treatments will.  I won't use anything caustic as the patio is sandstone.

Patio Magic or it's cheaper equivalent works wonders especially on green paving!!
