NHS Car leasing

My sister is a community nurse and desperately needs a new car. She has been accept onto this scheme but has been told that this will affect her housing benefit as it will be shown as an income? I just wanted to check if this sounds right? She needs the car to do the job and as a single parent she can’t buy something decent outright. Thank you

She really does need to fully understand what she is getting involved in before signing up for this. It may be a good thing but she must understand the consequences. For example it may reduce her pension and it will result in her receiving a company car benefit on which tax will be payable.1 -
Personally I found it a very expensive way to lease a car. I now lease mine £200+ per month cheaper through a general car lease company.1
