Adverse Brokers (Chartwell Funding)

Hello,
Can i ask for any reviews on Chartwell funding as a broker? L&C have referred me to them, assuming based on my defaults (x4 = 2 drop off April, 1 june and 1 Jan 16).
Alternatively i know brokers cannot reach out on here but has anyone had any dealings with any that do adverse mortgages?
thank you

ACG, Harasnosirrah and KS have a good reputation on this forum. The defaults seem quite old so hopefully will not mean that you need high adverse rates. Chart well might just be the adverse brokers that L&C are tied up with. Like Impact and Habito.1

I'm in the process of using them myself and so far I'm really happy. Application was submitted Friday afternoon. I was referred after using experian to see who we should try (I have missed payments and dodgy credit from leaving my ex husband two years ago. All has been good since Dec 2019) have gone with an adverse lender though as high streets wouldn't give a dip for a 90% ltv for us. Keeping everything crossed but I'm so worried my credit history will stop us moving forward!1

We do a lot of adverse and know a few of the bigger brokers in this part of the market. I have heard of them but have never come across any comments good or bad.

Apologies for bumping an old thread - maybe a new thread might be advisable? Thought I'd ask about Chartwell too having been directed to them through L&C. I'm very much new to all of this with this being the first time we have looked at moving house and we are wanting to try and be as swift as possible with moving with our eldest due to start full time school for the first time next year.
We currently have an AIP drawn up by Chartwell, which we have been advised to essentially use as a guide to show what we are able to afford, and are likely to be in a position to put our current home on the market in the next week or so having had a couple of valuations already and 2 more coming in the next few days.
Just wondered if anyone had any experience of dealing with Chartwell at all? My initial feelings are they are pretty helpful, and they have been forward in updating me about the current AIP we have and that they'd look to reapply at the time we are pretty much ready to move further due to the decline in service offered by the company they approached for our AIP (Kent Reliance), and they've been pretty helpful in 'dumbing things down' for me to try to explain all the steps we'd need to take.
Any advice would be great. If a separate thread would be better, please let me know and I'll get it sorted!0 -
No transparency, dripped fed info, but then the final nail was the advisor Andre Elliott after putting in an offer and getting it accepted for him to say I forget to tell you, you can get a flat for £82k, the criteria is a 100k on a flat, 75k on a house, how you can forget this criteria especially when it's the criteria they ask for based on a AIP, not happy with Andrew to say the least, what a waste of time had to pull out of the sale and back to the start, if your CEMAP qualified then these would be the basics to inform, he probably is but shows no interest in my application if the fundamentals were missing avoid if you don't want to waste your time, it's wasted me 4 weeks now and have ti start again.0

You would be surprised at how little relevance CeMap has to do with the job.
Our job is to try and navigate criteria and processes for up to 80 lenders - thats not feasible. There will always be gaps in our knowledge in that respect.
Did the broker know you were looking for a flat? If not, then that would only crop up once you find a property. If they did know, then yes I suppose it should have been picked up.
On a side note, I would probably take the lads name out of it - or at least his surname. Mistakes happen, appreciate you are not happy but nobody is perfect.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
