Section 75 on a closed credit card account?

I used to have a Tandem credit card. Like many, when they started charging for the card I cancelled it.
Back in 2019 I bought some tickets for a music fesitval through Seetickets. The festival has now been posponed for a second year and I want my money back. Seetickets aren't replying (for months) and there doesn't seem to be any way of contacting them in person. Only option is an online form which gets no response.
Does the section 75 protection I had with my Tandem credit card still apply now that I don't have the card?

https://support.seetickets.com/Event-Changed-/Postponed/1217471332/The-event-has-been-rescheduled-can-I-get-a-refund.htm suggests a refund entitlement if you don't want to accept the rescheduled date but if you've followed that process without luck then yes, you can claim under s75 even though the card account has been closed, assuming the tickets were more than £100 each.

    Thanks.
Yes, I've submitted a refund request but that was months ago. Heard nothing since and it seems impossible to contact them about refunds.
The cost per ticket was less than 100 but total was about 185. So that should be covered under s75?

As I understand it no. It has £100 or more per ticket.

No. It has to be £100+ per ticket.
You may have a chargeback right.
But you would need to speak to Tamdem on this. As you have a max of 540 days from the date of debit to claim. But there are other details that you would need to discuss with them.

You still have S75 even if the card is now closed, but the issue will be if you are even eligible for S75 in the first place. If your receipt shows that it was "1x bundle of two tickets" you'll be fine to make a S75 claim but if it shows "2x single tickets" then you're out of luck as the cost of each "item" needs to be greater than £100. I'd get in touch with Tandem and see what your options are - as above you might have some chargeback rights. Showing them you've already tried to deal with the merchant should work in your favour, but no guarantees.

Thanks for the info. I have opened a claim with Tandem so we'll see how it goes.
There was only one transaction fee so perhaps that means the tickets were one bundle. We'll see.

It will be one transaction fee.
It's when they ask for how many tickets & the ticket face value that S75 goes out of the window if each ticket is under £100.

All transactions are listed on the card as 1 thing, I could spend £100 at Sainsbury's and it will appear on my card as £100 but that will be 50 items or whatever, so would not be S75 covered. If you pay £150 for tickets but they are 2x £75 tickets, you will not be covered and as soon as the card firm notices they will reject it.
