I have seen people who are still on the register 20 years after bankruptcy with discharge suspended indefinitely because the OR had questions that were not answered.
'discharge suspended indefinitely' means just that

I hear over the last year bankruptcy cases are being handled differently due to high numbers and most cases don't even get an interview now numbers are off the chart and expected to increase even more0

It's true that there are some bankruptcies that are deemed sufficiently straightforward by the OR that an interview is not necessary. In those cases the OR will formally notify the bankrupt that no interview is needed. Avoiding the OR is not the same thing and will result in an indefinite suspension from discharge.0

I thought bankruptcy numbers were going down? About half of what they were a year ago.0

How much do you spend on your phone I assume Pay as you go. Is there a family member willing to get a sim only deal for you Plusnet or Giff gaff £10 unlimited calls. It would be in their name as you have poor credit and you would need to pay them.1

IVAs are going up (mis selling?) so that's part of it.Details
Company insolvencies
The number of registered company insolvencies in January 2021 was 752, approximately half the number registered in the same month in the previous year (1,515 in January 2020).
Individual insolvencies
For individual insolvencies, the number of bankruptcies in January 2021 was 818, while the number of Debt Relief Orders was 1,167. Both were 47% lower than in January 2020. There were, on average, 6,950 IVAs registered per month in the three-month period ending January 2021, 17% higher than for the three-month period ending January 2020, although this series is volatile.Published 19 February 2021
