Of course when you go back to that sort of age you get boilders that were made to last more than 10 years. Though I doubt the monthly pay cover plans would even consider it! Like when they say they can't get parts it means "they" can't get parts from their approved supplier not that parts are unavailable. More reason to use a good local then!

Have you tried negotiating a better price? They offer boiler and heating cover with annual service for £22 (new customers), no excess to pay.

I have boiler and controls with them for £18.99 (no excess) as an existing customer. 16 years old Glow Worm boiler.

I ditched Homeserve years ago because of their tardiness in replacing a circulating pump. I did it myself after them messing me about for two weeks! Fortunately it was summer and it was possible to use the immersion heater for hot water.
