  • Can I ask why you think that transferring balances for the last 9 years makes your credit rating good?
Have you been stoozing all this away and could you repay all your card debt if asked now?

Because of your circumstances I believe it will be difficult for you to get a large limit on a new card but have you considered going back to some of your previous cards and see if they can offer you an incentive to reactivate their cards?

    - Are you on the electoral roll?
    - Do you currently have a large number of credit cards/a large amount of credit available to you - and have you made sure you have definitely cancelled cards that you no longer use?

If you have been transferring balances around, it may be the latter - if you already seem to have a lot of credit available, many credit card companies will offer you a lower balance because you are already accessing so much credit from so many other institutions.
  • yes i am on the electoral roll and yes they are all cancelled previous cards
and the only credit card i have is one i have, so i dont have loads of credit all i was asking is capital one do they do things like that, and which is a good credit card to get that i may be accepted for
  • Has anything changed in your circumstances since you last applied for the Halifax card?
If not apply to whoever you want - just answer any questions on the application form truthfully.
