They are entitled to establish the fault exists but I would say that you've done everything reasonable to show that it does and therefore that a manufacturer visit or call isn't necessary.  Since they are mucking you around, I would give them an ultimatum: Either they allow you to reject this machine now and buy another from them, or you'll just reject it once they "allow" you to, and you'll buy a replacement elsewhere.  You have the threat of a chargeback on your debit card as back-up.

Personally, I'd just reject it outright and buy elsewhere anyway - if they're not inclined to help you when you're offering to buy a replacement from them, I wouldn't be confident of decent service if you have any problems with the replacement machine.  Try somewhere like John Lewis (probably a longer warranty) or a decent local appliance retailer.

Meanwhile, disconnect the machine and don't use it.

Thank you, I have already unplugged the machine and wont be using it due to the water leaking.

Off to email them again, will update when I have more info.

    Thanks for all the advice.

So, I gave them an ultimatium as advised earlier and if they didn't do either I would contact my bank for a charge back. They are still insisting on getting the serial number and they will contact the manufacturer.

    Should I give them this?

    Advice on next steps, thanks

I see no harm in giving them the serial number.  They may just come straight back saying they'll collect and refund.  If they start trying to force you down the route of a technician visit, etc. then stand your ground and tell them you are rejecting it.

They rang me to say they want to find a resolution I'm happy with but they do need the serial number so they can tell the manufacturer about their faulty product. When I'm home I will take a photo of the number and email it to them.

Fingers crossed they will refund, if not I will contact my bank.

Will let you know how it goes

    All sorted!

Faulty tumble dryer being collected on Thursday and new one being delivered at the same time.

They priced matched (took off £11.02) and gave me a free 4 hour time slot of my choice together with a further £20 off.

Probably should have just got a refund and ordered elsewhere but for the convenience of only having to take 1 day off work I decided to reorder with them and the fact they ended up being helpful.

    Thanks for all the advice

A good result, well done for sticking to your guns and not getting fobbed off.
