Front drive, do I need council permission?

Hello
I live on a corner and the road is semi busy but not a main road and thr road to the side is just a quiet residential road. I'm planning on converting my front garden into a driveway using block paving. Knocking down walls for access, there is a dropped kerb on the corner for pedestrians to cross the road. Do I need to get permission to use that existing dropped kerb?

Yes , dropped kerb for pedestrians not a car.
Possibility it could be turned down if not considered safe to allow itEx forum ambassador

Best ask your council, they all have different policies. Around here they don't seem to care too much but other places can be fussy. I think you need planning permission if you are newly paving over 5 square metres.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

Thanks, there is a 'manhole' or services cover and the area I've drive over isnt paving blocks but 'tarmac' black material. I'll call up and check0

Here, they only care if the parish council make a fuss. Otherwise they ignore everything, including kerb ramps and plywood "driveways" over grass verges ...
