Sorry, but irresponsible, just think of the risk of ending up in a Hospital and putting more pressure on the NHS.

I presume you have done an individual risk assessment, which states you should work from home or not be in work?

I assume that you have had at least your first shot? That won't protect you fully, you can probably still catch it but it won't be as serious.
If your employer can provide a safe working environment then there is no reason why you can't go back. However if you have to use public transport then I would not recommend it.
Shielding finishes in 3 weeks anyway. The risk is not going to dramatically drop in that time.
  • You could say you need to earn. The shielding letter is merely advice. I managed to go to 3 job interviews before being told to shield and I don’t know where any financial assistance would have come from in between jobs as have been subjected to an Employer declaring wages I haven’t physically received to HMRC for the best part of this year so far, at the mercy for them to put it right. I’ve never seen wages, tax and national insurance be reversed so this is going to be interesting.

That was 6 years ago according to past threads of the OP and things may have changed a lot in that time...

Also someone can require care at home and still work.
