Samsung 5 Year Warranty - Fridge Freezer

Hello,
I purchased a fridge freezer from Currys in Feb 2019 with an extended 5 year warranty. The appliance cost over £2000. Since then we have had an engineer attend a handful of times for numerous issues. Our most recent warranty claim started about 6 weeks ago when our freezer temperature started to fluctuate. Since then an engineer replaced the board, compressor and fan over the space of 4 visits. This failed to resolve the issue and now both the fridge and freezer are not working at all. Samsung have been in touch this morning to say that my model is out of stock and they don't have a restock date. Samsung have offered me a depreciated refund, which would be payable after the collection of the fridge freezer.
Is a depreciated refund really the best they can do? Maybe we have been naive but we assumed buying the extended warranty would cover us for something like this given it was a large purchase (well, it is for us anyway).
To replace the unit ourselves would cost us more than we originally paid with similar specs currently retailing at around £2.5k - £3k. In the meantime we're left with no fridge or freezer.
There may not be anything we can do but I thought it was worth asking the question.
Thank you for any suggestions you have.

What the Warranty covers is set out in the terms of the warranty. You have had some value from the Warranty because of the number of times they have been out to fix the machine, so I doubt you are entitled to anything back on the cost of the Warranty, so a depreciated refund sounds fair enough to me.The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.1

From the look of it they have the choice of repair, replacement or refund and they have chosen refund, they can also depreciate the refund. By what percentage have they depreciated their offer?1

If a depreciated refund is what the warranty provides for in these circumstances, anything beyond that would be down to goodwill. You could exercise your consumer rights but the outcome would probably be the same because under consumer rights, Currys would have to repair, replace or refund, with any refund being depreciated as well. How much are Samsung offering by way of refund, or haven't they told you yet?1

I'd expect a fridge freezer like that to last, what, 10 years? If they've offered a 5 year warranty that's an indication of at least that lifespan. I wouldn't accept any more than 40% depreciation and perhaps closer to 20%.1

Do Samsung not have a similar model available ,ie either slightly smaller or larger ? if a better model you could reach a compromise over the price difference.1
