Smile money transfer problems

I have just contacted Smile to ask where some money I had transferred to an external account on the 3rd had not arrived. I have been told that there 'have been some problems with money transfers made on 3rd December' and they will arrive 'early next week', just a heads up if anyone else has had any money seemingly disappear into the ether, as there is no notice on the Smile homepage. I would check your accounts carefully!
On the plus side they did get back to me very quickly, but I would have thought that given that this appears to be a general problem, some kind of contact might from smile have been useful!

Yes, same here. Money I sent on the 3rd hasn't arrived. Apparently it will be in the destination account on Monday.
It would be interesting to see what Smile's position is if someone incurred bank charges at the other end as a result of this error... the gentleman I spoke with didn't ask whether this had caused any problems with the destination account which I thought would have been good customer service. Would be a right pain if you'd sent the money on the 3rd to meet a direct debit or something!43580 -
If you have incurred charges at the other end, you will need to provide proof that the charges have been incurred due to the problem. They'd then be refunded.0

Likewise, they will not refund lost interest without faxing details of the rate to somewhere in manchester. Not worth it for a small amount over 2-3 days, although I'm sure Smile have earnt plenty of interest on all the cash that they forgot to send...
I'm not impressed with the entire episode, perhaps I should charge smile my 'standard service fee' of £25 for making a late payment (as the money was sent to another account of mine) :-)0 -

I am having the same with Cahoot! The other account I had with another on-line bank has had teh amount debited, but Cahoot say 5 working days to credit!
Also, I had to ring them to get the account number as the card had still not arrived after 16 days of my initial application! (came the following day).
After getting a customer feedback questionnaire, I put them straight!
I was in a hurry to get my cash as only certain accounts would accept the type of electronic transfer that my existing account had - and it all took nearly 4 weeks!0
