Well done! NSD for me too! Have recently discovered the Tilly Tidy challenge and it totally appeals to my spendy/frittery nature.  Basically frittering INTO my savings! Check it out if you haven't already.  I'm switching around which pots I pay my pennies into to make it more fun but the biggest need at the moment is my car balloon, due next month. I wonder if you've thought about trading in you car whilst it's still worth something?

I've been Tilly Tidying for years.  I used it to help pay off my mortgage back in 2016 when I was off sick from work for nearly 2 years prior to retiring as I wasn't getting much money, just ESA so couldn't afford large amounts.  I certainly helped.  Have to admit it was a very long mortgage statement that came in for those 2 years!

I still Tilly Tidy but put the money into holiday spends mainly; although do add it to other pots if they need it.

    NSD 4 😊

Thanks Elbree & Joedenise - I will have to go find the Tilly Tidying challenge (all hints & tips gratefully received).  I’m pretty sure my money would soon add up rather than frittering it away.

I love my car and thankfully the service charges aren’t too bad and if it needs anything major done my brother will do it for me. I think even if I trade it in in the next few years I should get some money for it. I need to start saving towards that (no more loans for me  :) ).

I need to change my money mindset and I want a cup full mindset in everything.

Today was the usual lockdown fun - working from home ... not quite finished yet and a quick walk at lunchtime.

I WISH I had discovered it years ago, it's definitely my kind of savings. I've been using the app Moneybox for a couple of years as well and would highly recommend to help with savings. It's where most of my car balloon will come from. It rounds up your transactions and pops them in an ISA for you. Well done on your NSD! I cracked and went to the shops for bananas 🙄

Hi Elbree - that always happens when you think you are going to get an NSD.

Today was a very busy day and spendy but for once I didn’t buy anything that wasn’t planned. I was on leave but had a meeting at a volunteer thing. I decided to have a massive clear out of my shed and had to do 2 dump runs but there is more to go.

Sister popped up with traybakes ... bang goes the diet again  :#.

😂 I've got do much to take to the tip but can't face the queues! Spend some time yesterday evening applying for a tax rebate I didn't know I was entitled to! Hopeful for a decent sized check in the post one day 🤞

Hi Elbree - I hope you get the rebate  :)

Always surprises me how many days skip past without realising. So I have 7 NSDs under my belt and no plans to spend until the weekend. I had a notion to get night cream yesterday and after Googling my basket was full of about £80 of face products that the website said a woman in her 40s must have. So I closed the site and went hunting in my storage box which contains samples and things I’ve picked up along the way and found a pot of night cream I’ve never even opened  :/.  Yeah to saving money but at the same time what a waste.

To keep me away from frittering I’ve found a crochet pattern for a blanket and am using up old bits of wool and will see how far I get before I need more (My mum is keeping me right - to be honest she will have her hands full as I’m useless at crafting  :)).

ok I have a meeting in 10 mins so best get my hair pulled back and at least look like I know what I’m talking about.

    Morning

Yesterday was the quietest St Patrick’s day ever  :/. I went for a run and then continued on with my decluttering. I was tempted to buy matching hangers and shoe storage but talked myself out of it - the frittering urge is strong  :). Instead I dug out a plastic tub I already have to put my winter boots in (foolishly optimistic the weather will be good).

    So today’s plans -
    • work
    • Finish decluttering shoes and clothes
    • Make soup for lunch
    NSD 9 today.

    Thanks Elbree

So again I've been a bit missing in action but I have still been plodding along trying to fritter less but I fell off the bandwagon last week and bought myself a new cardigan and jeans.  I don't need these because I have 'everything I need' and that is what happens when I scroll through instagram at night.  I'm back on the bandwagon and am now on 14 NSDs and limiting my scrolling on IS to try and cut down on my impulsiveness.

Friday (non working day) was fairly productive and I did some baking and got my house cleaned from top to bottom and loads of washing on :)  I did the shopping on Saturday for my relatives so I didn't actually spend any money and on Sunday I went for a run with my family - felt good to be out in the fresh air.

Yesterday I tweaked my budget because my salary landed today and needed to make sure it was ready to go to all its new homes.  I had created a sinking fund that covered -clothes, birthdays, subscriptions, exercise and my dog but I realise that I work better when each category has money assigned to it and I know then that I'm not taking too much out of one category eg using up the entire budget on clothes  ;).  I'm hoping then that I can use these pots to pay for stuff without feeling guilty.  Frittering and guilt are my 2 main issues.  So if the money is in the pot and I have all my savings and bills done for the month then I shouldn't feel guilty but I do!!!  I think this links to being in debt and not having money.

So only in work to Thurs and then only in work 2 days next week....yeah  :D
