Our previous house was bought after we lost one house. It ticked all the boxes but it didn’t feel ‘right’ though how much of that was because I tried not to get excited about it because of our previous experience and it wasn’t as pretty a house. We lived there for over thirty years and in retrospect it was a much better fit than the one we lost.

For me that would be an easier decision, if I really liked the place I'd go for it. There's always some compromises.
